Campaign Launch Press Release

Liberty Lake, WA - Political newcomer, Eric Agnew, a Liberty Lake resident and local businessman, has announced his candidacy for Congress. Said Agnew, “Partisan politics has gridlocked Congress and and is ripping us apart. At some point everyday, I inevitably end up saying to myself, ‘This isn’t right. This isn’t what democracy looks like!’ I said that enough days in a row that I knew I had to stand up and fight for our citizens and for what is right.”

Running as an independent, Agnew is a single father of three who has lived in Eastern Washington for almost twenty years. As an active member of the community, he has volunteered with several organizations, including Spokane County United Way, Tom’s Turkey Drive, Beyond Pink and Spokane Parks Foundation. Eric has also given time previously to Upwards Soccer where he coached multiple teams as well as engaging in the Liberty Lake Community Theater and the Eastpoint Church creative arts team. He earned an MBA from the Gonzaga University Graduate School of Business, where he was honored as the 2011 MBA Student of the Year, as well as the 2015 MBA Faculty Member of the Year for his work as an Adjunct Professor in the graduate school. Committed to economic and social development in eastern Washington, Eric is also a 2014 Leadership Spokane graduate. Agnew was inspired to run after considering the hostile nature of our current political system and what he personally do for the country. “The way to create a government that works for people again is not by moving to the left or to the right, it’s by coming together and taking a step forward, then another, and another. Before long we will be running faster and stronger than ever.”

Agnew is running as an independent to remove himself from party politics and stay true to his core values of country over party, fiscal responsibility, social tolerance, environmental responsibility and economic opportunity.
